🧬 Rare diseases affect less than 5 in 10,000 people and are often associated with lengthy diagnosis and poor prognosis. Kirsty wants to use this #rarediseaseday to increase awareness about her #raredisease and the need for improved funding into novel diagnostics and treatments.

🚨 Did you know that primary tumors of the heart affect 1 in 2 million people, and only 20% of primary heart tumors are malignant? Additionally, the average survival for Kirsty's cancer is 7 months post-diagnosis. These statistics highlight the urgent need for increased awareness and funding for rare diseases.

🔬 Genomic testing is vital for cancers like Kirsty's, as it allows for targeted treatments like immunotherapy, CAR-T, and the mRNA vaccine. Kirsty plans to work with Sarcoma UK and the NHS to get this changed so that all future cardiac angiosarcoma patients get genomic testing.
