In West Vancouver's early days, Gleneagles, Whytecliff and Horseshoe Bay were "Out West", a long way from the houses, schools and shopping areas of Ambleside and Dundarave. Stories of life Out West "are lost today so I'm trying to repeat as much as my memory allows", says Bruce McArthur, who grew up in "the Bay".
