Overcome with anger and grief, Superman kills the Joker, and in the following five years, Superman has established a Regime under a One Earth government, where he and other superheroes rule the planet under a new world order. In the prime DC timeline, members of the Justice League (Batman, Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Arrow, Aquaman, Green Lantern, and Cyborg) are dragged into the One Earth universe, and form an alliance with the Insurgency, a group of heroes forefronted by Batman to serve as humanity’s last stand against Superman’s Regime, to overthrow Superman’s reign and end his tyranny before his empire spreads to the main DC universe.
