We Walked a LOST Road from Gubeen to Schull (Forgotten West Cork Path)

Описание: This West Cork Wander took us from the rugged coastline of Gubeen all the way to the vibrant harbour town of Schull — but not by the modern road.

Instead, we followed an ancient path through forgotten townlands, past old vernacular Irish homes and weathered farmsteads that once held generations of stories. We crossed an old stone bridge at the estuary, wandered along a stretch of coastline where a road once existed — now completely reclaimed by grass, hedge and time — and clambered over fields and hills in search of the old way.

Eventually, we emerged onto the historic Colla Road, leading us down to Colla Pier — gateway to Long Island — before walking past a striking shoreline of grand homes, some owned by celebrities and film stars, as we returned to Schull.

With sweeping Atlantic views and Long Island rising in the distance, this was one of our most beautiful and revealing walks yet.
