Описание: How to perform perfect Surf Skate turns.
1. overall compression,
2. get to full eagle reset
3. touch hand on the floor
4. lower and higher each turn
5. straighten the front arm at the elbow on the heel side turn extension.
6. more heel and toe pressure on the board when turning.
7. deliberately throwing yourself off balance in a controlled way to initiate the sharper turn.

all of these will put your body in a more extreme position.

As your skating will become more extreme with these drills you will need the confidence to fully commit.
You want to start to learn the limits of grip on the wheels slowly if you haven't learned to control a slide before.

Hi everyone, this is Cameron the surf Wolf, coming to you from the NextLevel Surfcamp Bali.
Today in another installment of the NextLevel tutorial series, we're going to deconstruct the elements of the perfect surf skate turn.

Now take these elements straight to the water, you'll be doing full rail turns and throwing spray, which is the dream scenario for every surfer.

Let's start with the 1st and most basic surf skate drill.

A simple right and left turn through some markers.

Performing this drill 100's of times allows your body to gain the muscle memory required to perform these turns in the harder environment on a wave.

The focus of this drill is to perform smooth and consistent turns.

Using the 3 standing poses in the NextLevel system.

The eagle reset, the toe-side turn, and the heel-side turn.


Then deliberately hitting the set positions in their most extreme form.

In practice, this means getting as low as possible on turn entry.

Loading up throughout the turn, and a full extension of the body on the exit of the turn.

This can be summarised for all turns-


drop--load up--extend--contract--drop

Whether on a skate or surfboard, this technique will always allow you to have maximal control when compressed and on the rail during the turn, and maximal speed on the exit of the turn via the full body extension, on either the toe or heel side.

don't be lazy with the legs/knees

try to carry as much speed as possible while still holding the correct line.
