"Under the Leadership of the WPK" Famous Songs of the Times Touch People´s Heartstrings
Songs Created in Juche 104(2015) -
This year we greeted the 70th anniversaries of Korea´s liberation and the founding of the Workers´ Party of Korea. The songs "We Will Go to Mt. Paektu" and "Let Us Not Give up Our Revolutionary Faith, Though Dead" were the main songs of the year. Those songs sang with their powerful and peculiar melodies of the will of the Korean people to fight for the country and nation with the soul and spirit of the sacred Mt. Paektu, alive or dead, braving all difficulties, and thus win the final victory of the socialist cause.
We can take as an example the grand chorus "To the End of the Earth Following Marshal Kim Jong Un" performed by young service personnel and builders at the venue of the inaugural ceremony of the Paektusan Hero Youth Power Station held in October last. The performance was given against the dam of the power station, a witness of heroic struggle of the youth. In the performance there was also the instrumental ensemble and grand chorus "We Will Go to Mt. Paektu". It was a hearty echo of the young builders who built the grand monument of youth, braving unimaginable raging violence of nature in the revolutionary spirit of Paektu, the spirit of blizzards of Paektu, as the anti-Japanese revolutionary fighters did.
Kim Yong, Chief of the Russian Language Service of "Voice of Korea, has this to say:
"In the significant year 2015 all of us sang the famous songs such as ´We Will Go to Mt. Paektu´, ´Let Us Not Give up Our Revolutionary Faith, Though Dead´ and ´Eternal Echo´ and broadcast them a lot. Our artistes sang the songs during their performances abroad as well. Foreigners highly praised them. We gave wide publicity to the news of it. I think they are famous songs representing the Korean people´s faith in victory."
In the early 1950s the Korean people won a great victory in the three-year-long Fatherland Liberation War against the invasion of the US-led imperialist allied forces. The song "Three Years of War" was created, telling about the historical fact.
Kenji Yamamori and Koji Nakayama of Japan, regular listeners to "Voice of Korea" requested us to transmit the song "Three Years of War". Perhaps the song represents the ardent wish of humanity that such painful war experienced by the Koreans should not be repeated and the desire of humanity for genuine peace of the world. The song is sung by not only the Korean people but also the world progressives with deep emotion. It shows the great influence of the song.
Juche 104 or 2015 was a significant year marking the 70th anniversary of the WPK.
Another songs "We Will Follow Our Party Forever", "Mother´s Birthday" and "We Love the Party Flag" were also created and widely sung, representing the minds of the people sincerely believing and following the party. "Our Comrade Kim Jong Un", "Tender Feelings", "We´ll Follow to the End", "Longing Is My Happiness", "We Wanted to See You" and other songs reflect the ardent yearning of the people for respected Kim Jong Un, who are making innovations in their work with fascination and reverence for him.
Especially the orchestral music and male chorus of the song "We Will Travel One Road Forever", Kim Jong Il Prize work laureate, represented again by the State Merited Chorus, was an eruption of the faith and resolve of the Korean people to share the destiny with the party.
O Yong Chol, Deputy Department Director of the Ministry of Culture, has this to say:
"The orchestral music and male chorus of the song ´We Will Travel One Road Forever´,
Kim Jong Il Prize work laureate, represented the ideological sentiments of the times that the faith of the army and people to travel one road forever following the party was, is and will be invariable forever and its musical representation is really wonderful. The song is a masterpiece of the times for its content, structural characteristics, new composition and peculiar resonance. Such masterpiece is possible only under the meticulous guidance of our respected Kim Jong Un, I think."
This year the Korean people did ten years´ work in one year for a bright future of the country. It is reflected on the songs "O I Love My Motherland", "My Mind" and "Happy Tomorrow".
The Korean songs produced by the times making a leap forward with the ideology and leadership of the great man will actively promote the building of a prosperous socialist nation in the future, too.
