SMA Big Spring Build Log 1 AMT Romulan Warbird
Welcome to my video log series of the AMT 1/3200 scale Romulan Warbird buildup.
In this segment I have prepped the forward section by drilling out all of the window ports
and painting the inside and outside in black to block against light leaks.
I installed Three 5MM White LED's in the forward section placed at different angles to make sure to light it as evenly as possible. I have tested the assembly and the light effect is looking good.
I then built the warp nacelles. I painted the parts again in and out with black and then painted the flux chiller lens's in transparent green with my airbrush. I used the Modeler's brand LED tape again to light the grills. I applied a few thin coats of white to the backside of the grills to diffuse the light source and the effect looks pretty good.
I will be assembling the warp engines to the hull and routing the wiring through the model next and then connecting on the forward section.
