The Eyes Adrift Apology for ex Nirvana, Meat Puppets, and Sublime members

In early 2000 we formed a band named 'Eyes Adrift' and played for a few years at various pubs, clubs and venues based in Sydney, Australia. A couple of years through playing under that name we were made aware of a U.S band who formed and also called themselves 'Eyes Adrift' with the members consisting of:

-Krist Novoselic (ex Nirvana)
-Curt Kirkwood (ex Meat Puppets)
-Bud Gaugh (ex Sublime)

Apart from sharing a unique band name we became aware of a few other similarities and strange coincidences that occurred during a short period around 2002. As the U.S band planned to expand internationally, rights to the name in Australia became an issue and we were contacted by the band through a 3rd party which was the beginning of a name debacle that ended in a way we had not hoped or ever intended.

Fourteen years on, a much belated apology has been brewing in the minds of two members of the Australian band who would like to apologize to Curt, Bud and Krist on how the whole situation unfolded.

So what else were we to do but write them an apology song!?

The issue we have is that our song is not quite finished and we need you to help. We now live busy lives and in different countries and only ever get a chance to play music together once a year if we are lucky. We have written a song we would like to play for the ex members of the group along with our formal apology so we have decided to reach out to the music community and ask for your help to cover our song entitled "The Apology" that is good enough that we can send to these guys. We plan to give US$500 to the band/artist behind the best version of our song, as a sign of our gratification for your help in addition to being part of this unique apology. We also feel that this project will be a lot of fun for everyone involved to see if we can actually reach these guys without knowing them in the first place!
