HOMEOPATHIC SYSTEM OF MEDICINE
1. Homoeopathy is a specialized system of therapeutics,developed by Dr Samuel Christian Friedrich Hahnemann (1755–1843), a German physician, chemist and a pharmacist.
2. It is based on natural law of healing: Similia Similibus Curantur, which means ‘Likes are cured by likes’.
3. Homois means like (similar) and pathos means treatment. Thus, Homoeopathy is a system of treating diseases or suffering by the administration of drugs that possess power of producing similar suffering (diseases) in healthy human beings.
Diagnosis
Patients are asked to atoms and he also devised a method of describe their medical history and current symptoms. The major symptoms, location, sensation, modality are investigated, patient's mood and behaviour, likes and dislikes, responses to stress conditions, reactions to food and personality. This detailed case history helps to build up a Symptom Picture of the the patient. This is matched with the drug picture mentioned in Homeopathic Materia Medica.
Treatment
The practitioners always attempt to identify a single medicine preparation of remedies which corresponds to the patient's general symptom picture. Two patients with identical diagnosis may receive different medicines.

Homeopathic medicine: There are principally three essential processes involved in the preparation of remedies. These processes are serial dilution, succession and trituration. Serial dilution is the process for reducing the toxicity of the original crude drug in a sequential order. Succession and trituration are methods by which power is delivered to a preparation, whereby the curative characters of the original drug is recorded upon the molecules of the diluents.

Potentisation of the drug is basically a physical process by which the latent curative properties of a drug are activated. For preparation of homoeopathic potencies of liquid drugs, three major scales are used, namely, Decimal, Centesimal and Millesimal.
