Mitaki-dera temple is dedicated to Kannon, the Goddess of Mercy and dates back to 809. The grounds has three waterfalls, which is where the name Mitaki comes from; the characters that make up the name mean "three" and "waterfall". While this is a bit out of the way from the main tourist track for Hiroshima, it is well worth the trip to get to. The grounds are gorgeous and there are a lot of little trails you can take while you're there.
