Just had a hysteroscopy or preparing for one? Here’s what you need to know for a smooth recovery.
𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐭 𝐢𝐬:
A minimally invasive procedure using a small camera to look inside the uterus—often used to treat:
• Polyps
• Fibroids
• Uterine septums
• Scar tissue (Asherman’s)
𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐝𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐦𝐚𝐲 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞:
• Light bleeding or spotting (normal, even if delayed)
• Mild cramping—often relieved with Advil or Tylenol
• Slight vaginal burning from antiseptic soap (a gentle shower can help)
𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝟮 𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗸𝘀:
• Nothing inside the vagina—no sex, tampons, baths, or swimming
• Use pads if you're bleeding
• Follow up with your doctor to review results and healing
At ESSE, we believe even simple procedures deserve thoughtful, whole-person care. We’re here to support your healing and guide you every step of the way.
