Complaint against school and education

Описание: Complaint against school can be made to the DM of that district. Education and services by school are covered under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. School is selling its online educational courses and other services against payment of tuition fee and therefore come under definition of E-commerce under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019. Supreme Court had even stated that schools are an industry and come under the Industrial dispute Act.
One adverse order by the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission in the case Manu Solanki & Others v/s Vinayaka Mission University (Formerly Known As Vinayaka Mission's Research Foundation Deemed University), Salem & Others has caused lot of sufferings to the students across the country. This vague order says that education is not a service to be covered un der the Consumer Protection Act. The order also says that Bus Services are equivalent to imparting education.

The question is that when NCDRC was entertaining consumer complaints under the Consumer Protection Act for the last 30 years and also giving judgements in favor of the consumers then what happened suddenly that it had to give an order that says that educational services are not services to be covered under the Consumer Protection Act.
Now, an appeal lies against this order in the Supreme Court and it is expected that Supreme Court would go against this order of NCDRC to give such an order that the students all over India would be helped and get justice as a consumer.
