Video of the moon recorded for Sly Sparkane's Moon Observation Experiment, recorded around 7:00 pm on December 4. The moon went unobstructed by clouds around 7:30 when it was roughly 7 degrees above the horizon. Nearest city is Fort Worth, Texas.
The footage was a bit shaky... something was going on with the telescope tracking.
Towards the end of the video was the lunar transit of an object which I believe to be a satellite. If it was a satellite, the most likely one (as far as I can tell) is a piece of debris from a Delta 1 launch of the Explorer 38 satellite in 1968. The predicted time for the transit was about 10 minutes off per Calsky, as well as the path being an eighth of a degree off or less. However, the predictions were based on data from about 35 days previously.
Identification of DELTA 1 DEB:
28670
1968-055-T
Launch date July 4, 1968
Equipment:
Telescope: Meade ETX 60AT
Camera: Canon EOS Rebel T2i
