The Course:

Terrain:
Forget your flat, fast, PB-smashing courses, Witton is one of the toughest parkruns I've done in a while.
It's a mixed-terrain so expect tarmac, trail, gravel, even some cheeky cobbles.

Elevation: -
It's very hilly!!!!! there's also a hill they call the beast that's very steep. You do it twice.

Route:
It's a two-and-a-bit lap jobby, keeping things interesting, and while it's tough, it is very rewarding…Plus, you’re running mostly under tree cover so kinda protected from the elements.

Location:
Witton Country Park in Blackburn is stunning. Seriously, it's a beautiful setting with loads of green space. You're running through varied landscapes, which keeps your mind off the burning in your quads (mostly!).

Facilities:
You've got proper toilets at the Pavilion, which is always a win after a pre-run coffee. Plus, the Pavilion Café, known as Ronnie's, is the perfect spot for that post-parkrun brew and bacon butty. They even do a parkrunner discount if you flash your barcode!

Parking:
Parking is super convenient. There's a main car park right there at Witton Park Arena. It's pay and display, but we're talking pennies – around 80p for two hours, which is more than enough for your parkrun fix. Just try to get there a little early, as the machines can get busy closer to 9 AM. I had to wait a while to get my ticket.
