Hi, Matt with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be talking about the Easy Latch Demco Coupler. Now, this is gonna be a great option for you, if you're looking for something that's really simple, and convenient to use when you are hooking up to haul your trailer. Now, of course, if you decide to go with this, after watching this video, let us know if it really is that easy to use in either a comment, or review below. So if you pulled a lot of trailers behind you, you probably dealt with a lot of couplers, too. And, a lot of couplers, this mechanism here at the very top can get caught or bound, and that can be kind of a pain to deal with, especially if you're on the go, you got places to be.

Last thing is you want this to malfunction on you. This really takes out all that. It's very easy to use. Doesn't take any time at all. And, you can get this in other variations.

And, those other variations are gonna have different finishes on 'em. So this is gonna be a black finish. And then, there's also gonna be other ones that actually have salt spray ratings. So if you are using this for more marine applications, those might be a little bit better suited for you. So with all that aside, let's talk about how it's gonna be like to actually use.

After that, we'll talk about some of the specs, and what it's gonna work with. And then, finally, I'll show you how to install it. So when you are using this, if you ever need to hook up to your ball mount, 'cause it is gonna work with your two inch balls, you need to make sure that latch (latch clicks) is in the down position. Then you can jack it down, Let her grab into place, and you can see how this is moving. And then, it latches.

So you don't have to deal with the latch moving around on you, or putting it back into the down position. It's set to go. And then if you ever need to unhook, just lift that latch up again, and you can lift it up. Doesn't really take any time, and I'm not fighting with anything that's gonna bound up. Now, of course, I'd actually recommend keeping that latch down once you're done using it, so you don't forget next time you need to hook up. And, this is gonna have a weight capacity of 10,000 pounds for your towing, and a thousand pounds for your tongue weight. What the difference there is your tongue weight is gonna be the downward pressure being applied to the ball. And then, your towing capacity is gonna be the trailer itself and the content within it. So this coupler is gonna have a lot of the standards. It's gonna have this coupler pinhole, so you can even put your pin locks through here to keep this nice and secure so no one can take it. I will say I would recommend grabbing a pin that is the length of three inches, so it goes all the way through, 'cause this is a little bit thicker. Now with the one we have here, this is gonna be pretty unique with all of the easy couplers, and that's gonna be because it has this spot for a chain here. Now, this is only gonna be with a cast one, so if you want to put your safety chains at this location, you can do that. If you don't want to go that route, you like the look of the other couplers. Typically your trailer will have a spot right over here where you can mount those safety chains. And, at the very top, we're gonna have a spot for your jack. This is gonna be great, because I like this placement of a jack, because it's centered up on the A-frame, making this a lot more stable.
