A quick how-to on adding a DCC decoder to an older Hornby Class 58. It's a basic model without headlights, so the same principles can be applied to most 1980s Hornby locos. Most can be quite easily converted from DC to DCC, and combined with a motor service, can breathe new life in to them.
In this video I install a Hattons 8-pin 1.1 amp DCC decoder (http://www.hattons.co.uk/62784/Hatton..., but any NMRA-compatible DCC decoder can be used instead.
