For Example, a Marine Pilot with the PLA is responsible for guiding vessels of all types, from large container ships and tankers to cruise ships and warships, safely along 95 miles of the tidal Thames. This includes navigating complex turns, passing landmarks and bridges, and ensuring the safe passage of these vessels into, out of and around the Port of London. They work 24/7, 365 days a year in various conditions to keep trade and visitors flowing.
