"We want an apology." That’s the message coming loud and clear from Fresno’s Filipino community after several Asian food vendors were told they were no longer welcome at the River Park Farmers Market.
Christine Rose, owner of Maarte., a creative studio in downtown Fresno that highlights Filipino culture, says her participation at River Park is now in question.
Rose teaches yoga classes at the outdoor venue every Saturday but says she may not return unless the Farmers Market Association issues a formal apology.
“I talked to them twice and during my second conversation, I advised them that they should send an apology to my community,” said Rose. “And we still have not received that yet. And that's why we're here.”
