During the HIV/AIDS crisis, groups like Act Up and TAG fought for the research of potential treatments to be funded more quickly and more adequately.
Bush was seen as dragging his feet and not caring about dying AIDS victims because of its perceived links to homosexuality.
In the face of a disease that had no real treatment - its victims expecting certain death - Bob Rafsky delivers this speech before election day on behalf of Mark Fisher, an AIDS victim frustrated with the Bush administration, who requested a political funeral.
Bob Rafsky passed away a few months later.
