In this video, I have created a complete Process Flow Diagram (PFD) in AutoCAD 2D from scratch, following industry-style practices used in chemical and specialty chemical plants.
The project is based on a Hot Oil Heating System, where an organic liquid flows from a storage tank through a pump and a shell-and-tube heater before reaching the product tank.
This video covers:
• PFD development from a blank AutoCAD file
• Equipment symbols and tagging (T-101, P-101, E-101)
• Process stream routing and flow direction
• Stream data representation (flow rate, temperature, pressure)
• Utility integration using a hot oil system
• General notes, design basis, legend, border, and title block
• Difference between PFD and P&ID (practical understanding)
