In this video, we find the component forces and their directions from the given resultant vector that would result from these two forces. This problem is resolving 1 resultant force to make two component vectors via the Parallelogram Rule.

Problem statement:
A barge is pulled by two tugboats. If the resultant of the forces exerted by the tugboats is a 5000 lb force directed along the axis of the barge, determine the tension in each of the ropes knowing that alpha is 45 degrees.

Problem walkthrough steps:
Draw a quick free body diagram
Form a parallelogram by copying and pasting the component forces
Draw in the resultant from corner to corner
-Calculate the angle opposite the resultant force
-Use the law of sines to find the unknown components which are the tension forces in the cables
