“Variable data” printing is when one select elements are changed from one item to the next. Say, for exampl, you need to create mailing labels with a company logo. The company logo would remain the same, but the addresses would change. There’s an easy way to make a template so you don’t have to make each of those mailing labels by hand. Variable data is useful when you want to track sequences, such as gift certificates, coupons with promotional codes, tickets, or checks.
Here, David uses two programs to create variable data stickers; he creates the image used in the mailing labels with Illustrator, and adds the changeable data in Versaworks using a spreadsheet.
