Clay is always a tough fight in a Nuzlocke, but when you have exactly zero viable moves that Excadrill doesn't resist it becomes a nightmare. The plan was as follows: Sigilyph sets up Reflect and chips Krokorok with Return (crit Return never KO's Krokorok, and can even give me a free switch into Munna). Then I would live two Crunches and Yawn + Protect to get a guaranteed KO on Krokorok, but since it kept spamming Swagger for some reason I just took the Return KO. I need to KO with Munna (or Gothita) so that Palpitoad comes in next, and I need to PP stall it out of Muddy Water AND Bubblebeam. Admittedly I did this poorly, as Munna could have stalled it by itself once the confusion was shaken off. Once Palpitoad couldn't hurt Swoobat, I set up 6 calm minds and ensure I'm at full health. With exp edging, Swoobat reaches level 32 to learn Air Slash for Excadrill. Two +6 Air Slashes will barely, but always, KO Excadrill. Full HP was so Rock Slide never KO'd Swoobat, but I got the flinch anyway. Played optimally, I only needed to dodge up to 4 crits and hit two Air Slashes.
MY HARDCORE NUZLOCKE RULES:
If a Pokemon faints, it is considered 'dead' and can't be used in battle.
I can only catch the first eligible encounter on each route. As I'm only using Psychic types, this isn't an issue so long as I capture them. HM Slaves are an exception.
I cannot use items in battle.
I must play in set mode (no switching between Pokemon).
I cannot level beyond the ace of the next Gym Leader - if I do, the Pokemon that overlevelled will be boxed in the next available opportunity.
Dupes Clause: I cannot catch multiple of the same Pokemon.
The run is completed when I defeat Ghetsis in the Plasma Castle and the credits roll.
