Zemla’s electroacoustic piece Simona for accordion, percussion and live electronics uses spruce, pine cones and journalistic materials to commemorate the way in which Simona Kossak fought tirelessly for many years to protect the Białowieża Forest, while at the same time transmitting knowledge of biological sciences to a wide audience through radio broadcasts. The piece uses some of these materials, which constitute the narratives of the piece.
