Описание: So 1st video back from a summer break and it comes from my 2nd visit to Banbury station on the Chiltern Main Line featuring services from Chiltern Railways, CrossCountry and Great Western Railway 1 train every 2 hours from Didcot Parkway and one freighter.

And also almost forgot it's my 1st video on my new camera the iPhone 12 Pro as well.

Banbury first opened on September 2nd 1850 as Banbury Bridge Street

It was originally one of two stations in Banbury with the other being Banbury Merton Street which was opened 4 months earlier by the Buckinghamshire Railway (L&NWR)

Banbury Bridge Street opened by the formed GWR at the time was renamed Banbury General in 1938 with the present station layout rebuilt between 1953 and 1958 before it was renamed to todays name of Banbury in 1961 which is nowadays managed by Chiltern Railways

The former Merton Street station closed in 1965 as well as the lines to both Buckingham and Verney Junction which were axed by Beeching.

4 through platforms today at Banbury with Platforms 1 and 4 used for through and terminating services.

Chiltern Railways call here via Platforms 2 and 3 with stopping services terminating from London Marylebone in Platform 4 which also can be used by through services to enable faster services from Birmingham Moor Street and Snow Hill to overtake.

CrossCountry Trains also serve here normally provide services to Reading, Southampton Central and Bournemouth from Newcastle and Manchester Piccadilly.

However at the time of filming both Chiltern Railways and CrossCountry Trains were still operating reduced services with CrossCountry Trains operating 1 every 2 hours to Bournemouth alternating with Reading services from Manchester Piccadilly whilst Chiltern Railways were only operating half hourly services to and from Birmingham Moor Street and a few services a day extended north to Kidderminster whilst other services like Banbury weren't running and Stratford-upon-Avon were cut back to Leamington Spa.

The services to Kidderminster in early morning or evening are operated by Class 68 loco hauled with a 82 trailer at the rear.

Great Western Railway operate 1 train every 2 hours to and from Didcot Parkway via Oxford mostly formed of a Class 165 Turbo which are maintained at Reading Traincare Depot.

In December 2019 occasional 9 car IETs to and from London Paddington can run here although at present only 2 trains at either early morning or late evening on weekdays.

Nearby south of the station is access to Banbury Depot opened in 2015 is one of two main depots for Chiltern Railways on the Chiltern Main Line with the other at Wembley LMD.

Filmed on Saturday September 4th 2021 on iPhone 12 Pro and edited on iMovie
