Chetak helicopter at OpSahayata in Mozambique

Описание: #OpSahayata #HADR#BridgesofFriendship IN Ships Sujata and Shardul and ICGS Sarathi are undertaking HADR operations at Port Beira, Mozambique since 18 March 2019. Since arrival at Port Beira, the ships have rescued more than 150 survivors from Buzi area near Port Beira, which is cut off from the mainland. In addition, two medical camps have been set up at Port Beira and Gaura-Gaurathe Island and Medical assistance has been provided to over 800 affected people. A Chetak helicopter of the Indian Navy has undertaken several sorties for evacuation of personnel in coordination with local authorities and the UN Mission. The helo also undertook evacuation of three pregnant ladies and dropped relief materiel (food and water). IN Ships also provided 12 tonnes of fresh water for relief camps. Community service is being undertaken by the crew at various locations like schools, churches, hospitals, orphanages in coordination with the local government officials. The ships have setup a community kitchen, which is open 24x7 for the local populace including port workers. In addition, media personnel from BBC, TVM Mozambique and OXFDM visited the ships to witness relief work being undertaken. They also visited medical camp at the Port and were briefed about various medical aid being provided by the ships.
