Hi friends! Good morning. This is Dr. Itishree Gupta, a consultant plastic surgeon at Divine Cosmetic Surgery Center in Delhi. Today, I will be talking about how does your vagina changed after childbirth. Those who have undergone childbirth know the tedious process in the tail. The amount of stretching of your vagina that happens. So a lot of women complain to us that their vagina feels very roomy. Obviously, you have undergone childbirth. There is an entire human being that has come out through your vagina.

Vagina muscles are very elastic and yes they do come back to a certain extent. The child may be this much but that does not mean that your vagina will stay this much. It does recoil and they do come back but it's like a stretch rubber band. So if you stretch it a little bit maybe it's gonna come back completely but if you stretch it a lot and of course, there are multiple contractions and it takes a while for the child to come out. So basically vagina is the opening from the uterus the baby travels out of your vagina so the entire Canal from the inside to the outside will stretch completely. Suppose you have a rubber band and you stretch it completely so it will recoil but it will stretch out. It will not completely come back there are some strip tribes that will be just stretched out and they will not return to their original steel.

Patients complain that the vagina feels very roomy and it feels very lacks and they don't enjoy the same sexual pleasure that they used to before they had their childbirth. This is why in our vaginal tightening procedures for women who have undergone childbirth, we prefer doing a vaginal tightening under general anesthesia. We remove that extra strip of mucosa that is there and we also tighten the vagina muscles all along the length of the vagina posteriorly. This is what happens and this is why vaginal tightening helps you because it tightens those loose stretched-out muscles and it also removes that extra bit of mucosa that is there. So it's a very good procedure and you will feel very rejuvenated and you can enjoy your sexual intercourse just like you would before childbirth.
