Heavy rain with very strong winds in the southwest initially, strengthening through the rest of today and spreading across much of England and southern part of Northern Ireland. Some of these rain are falling as snow as the colder air cutting in from the north. Largely dry for northeast England and much of Scotland with a few showers in places and some clearer skies. - This is the Met Office UK weather forecast for the afternoon of 08/01/2026.
