This is the last of a short series of videos about Ion Mobility (IMS) and Collision Cross Section (CCS).
Here I set out the limitations of commercially available IMS-mass spectrometry systems. I try to answer to the question: can we build a “universal” CCS database that can be applied regardless the technology type? And also: can we use CCS as an additional identification point?
Finally, I will provide a personal view of the current state-of-the-art and future prospects for ion mobility.
