Fertile Catalyst Is WAY More Complicated Than I Expected | Alchemy Factory

Our next progression item is Fertile Catalyst, and to make it, we have to step into completely new territory. New machines. New ingredients. New problems. To get Fertile Catalyst, we first need Vitality Essence, which comes from Oblivion Essence, which is produced using the Paradox Crucible. And that’s where things get weird. The Paradox Crucible can take any item and turn it into Oblivion Essence… but the item you put in determines how long it takes. A limestone rock might take 1 second. Flax might take 1000 seconds.

Here’s the catch:
The crucible consumes 3600p heat
Our fuel (Black Powder) burns at 4500p
Longer recipes mean massive fuel loss
Cheaper items cost more fuel
Faster items cost more money

So now we’re caught in a balancing act between fuel and material costs. We walk through how the Paradox Crucible works, break down the math, and then look at an alternative: Cauldrons. We test three cauldron recipes and land on one that uses: Wood Planks + Large Wooden Gears + Silver Coins

To scale properly, this would require two cauldrons, costing 1080p heat and 2 silver per minute. And that’s where I stop. Because I want your input.
