How would you describe the state of Desktop Linux in 2025?
What are the main obstacles for increasing user adoption?
Where do we want to go with the distro vs. Flathub/App ecosystem relationship?
How do we get there?

Aleix is the KDE e.V. President, a long-time KDE contributor, and the Linux App Summit founder and organiser. He works for MBition GmbH, a Mercedes Benz subsidiary.

Felipe has contributed to GNOME for more than a decade in software development and community governance. He maintains GNOME Boxes and GNOME Settings, and works in Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation as part of the Red Hat Display Team.

Sebastian Wick is a GNOME member, working for Red Hat on compositors, and all kinds of desktop plumbing, including portals and flatpak.

Jordan Petridis is a long time GNOME contributor, and a member of the Release Team. He is experienced with Flatpak, CI/CD and application development. His day-to-day work is in multimedia software, but he spends his free time doing release engineering and playing with gymnastic rings.

The Linux App Summit (LAS) brings the global Linux community together to learn, collaborate, and help grow the Linux application ecosystem. Through talks, panels, and Q&A sessions, we encourage attendees to share ideas, make connections, and join our goal of building a common app ecosystem.
