Fort Gudekote is situated on a rocky hill in Kudligi taluq of Bellary district. Close to the fort entrance is a natural rock shelter in which prehistoric rock paintings can be seen. The fort has four major sources of water- one stepped well, two ponds, and a tank hidden among massive rocks. Within the fort is a large brick & mortar structure with no entrances at the ground level. The structure might be a granary.
