Blair Benzel - Lumatone excerpts transcribed (31-TET, 53-TET)

Описание: I always wanted to transcribe the Lumatone performance of ‪@BlairBenzel‬, the shorts she made are just so colorful and virtuosic! I was particularly impressed by her rendition of Zhea Erose's "Rare Chord" pieces. There are four shorts I transcribed, two of which are found on YouTube, the other two on Instagram. Two tuning systems are on display here. 31-TET can be notated using a chain of fifths, as well as semi- and sesqui- sharps and flats for more in between notes. I don't think there's a sesqui-sharp character to type in, so for those I'm just displaying 3 semi-sharps. No ups and downs are required in 31. The 31-TET chromatic scale is:

53-TET can be notated using Turkish music notation, but the chromatic semitones are uneven and thus it doesn't follow as much of the equal tempered logic of Western notation. Thus (as in the past), I've chosen to use arrow accidentals attached to 53's (very accurate!) chain of fifths in Western notation instead. It's a shame 53 in ups and downs looks so messy on the page compared to its tuning potential and JI hype. No semi- and sesqui- accidentals are used here. I put triple downs in this chart at the extremes instead of new double accidentals plus an arrow because I thought the latter would be annoying to write out:
