Vinnie Vincent: Ashes to Ashes alternate solos

Описание: One of Vinnie Vincent's grievances about the All Systems Go album was that he had to cut back his solos. This video features the three known solos from the opening track, Ashes to Ashes.

First up is the solo how it appears on the album and it's nearly half the length of the other two! As Vinnie said, "they wanted me to cut back my solos"! In my opinion though, it is the most suited to the song and mixes melody and shred (I love the "cat wail" bends at the start) but each to his/her own on whether this is the best.

Next up is the solo that is on the Metal Tech instructional video Vinnie did in 1988 and is a lot shreddier. This solo is pretty much the one Vinnie used when playing live with the Invasion, so I guess he liked it the best! It's also a good guess that this is the solo Vinnie wanted on the album.

Lastly is the solo that appears on various bootlegs (eg the All Systems Go "Unmixed" boot) and like the second, is a lot shreddier than the album version. This one seems a bit more haphazard than the second though and I wouldn't be surprised if it was more of a "first take" solo which Vinnie then refined to become the second solo....which of course he was then asked to cut back on!
