Welcome back! Just wanted to drop a quick video after the latest mod install.
If you want to make the most out of your time on the water worry free, then installing an automatic charging relay is a must for ensuring better life expectancy out of your marine batteries. The alternator or stator (which is what I have on my outboard) of your outboard is what charges the cranking battery by default, but that leaves the "house battery" or in my case "electronics and accessories only battery" out of the equation. Leaving it to only be as good as the indicated amp hour rating on the label and possibly degrading its service life by running it too low after extended usage.
This relay helps combine both batteries when charging while isolating the secondary from the primary while the outboard is off during usage. The same goes for the primary battery as well, effectively giving you the power of dual batteries while combined when you need it. This type of relay is capable of being installed on all boats, not just #basstracker and helps give your house or electronics only battery a nice boost in charge while you are away from a home outlet to charge them, thereby extending your day out there and being capable of using your GPS's phone chargers, and anything else that you may have hooked up to your vessel longer. Just crank your engine and let it charge!
Blue Sea Systems M-ACR part number 7601 is the one in use on my boat, capable of delivering up to 65 amps stable. On my outboard the stator is capable of delivering up to 19 amps @ 5000 RPM so the relay will never see an overamperage situation. More videos to come soon.
Lets get you out there!
