In this video we explore the amazing underwater bio diversity of the Agincourt ribbon reefs from Port Douglas. Welcome to our Silversonic - Diving Port Douglas and the Agincourt Reef - Trip Review.

DAY TRIP PROGRAM:

Our day starts with a short 50minute drive from Cairns. Arriving into Port Douglas Marina we park our car and check in the day dive boat Silversonic.

Filling out the mandatory paperwork the crew are talking us thru all the safety procedures of the boat, the dive gear and the general layout of the boat. In our view this is a fantastic dive boat. The rear deck is large with plenty of space to gear up and store camera gear in the camera buckets provided.

After the 1 hour 20 minute boat ride from Port Douglas we arrive at Agincourt Reef. We are asked to gear up and prepare for our dives. Completing our buddy checks, checking our air gauges we depart the boat with giant stride entry. Our dive guide gives the all ok hand signal as we then descend into the beautiful coral gardens of the Great Barrier Reef.

The diving is easy with magical light conditions, and straight away we spot white tip reefs sharks, diagonal banded sweet lip fish and sea turtles.

The reef is bring with fish and hundreds of different species of soft and hard corals. In fact majority of the color and marine life of the Great Barrier Reef sites shallower than 16 meters.

We return from the dives relaxed, and utterly bring with joy. It really is so beautiful diving the Agincourt Ribbon Reefs. The day continues with 2 more dives which are separated by a lovely hot and cold buffet lunch that includes, hot curry, soup, beef brisket, sushi, cold prawns, salads, cold meets and bread rolls.

After three dives we depart the reef at around 3pm to make our way back to Port Douglas. It is on this return we spot 2 large humpback whales with a baby calf. This absolutely cemented the day. You could say we were lost in Paradise today. Just Magical!
