Homemade Cinnamon Buns (Mom’s Recipe!)
In today’s video my mom shows us how she makes her delicious homemade cinnamon buns - soft, fluffy and full of cinnamon goodness. If you try them, prepare yourself… you might finish the whole tray! 😅
📋 Ingredients
Dough:
• 4 cups all-purpose flour
• 1 tablespoon yeast
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• Pinch of salt
• 3 tablespoons sugar
• 50 g margarine
• 1 egg
• 1 cup milk
• 1 cup water
Filling:
• Margarine (to spread on the dough)
• 3 tablespoons brown sugar
• 1½ teaspoons cinnamon
Topping (before baking):
• 1 egg + a little milk (for brushing)
Icing:
• Icing sugar + a splash of vinegar (for taste)
🥣 Method
1. Mix flour, yeast, baking powder, salt, and sugar.
2. Add margarine, egg, milk, and water. Mix and knead until dough is soft (add more margarine if needed).
3. Rub dough with oil, place in a bowl, cover, and leave in a warm place for 1 hour to rise.
4. Roll out the dough and spread margarine on top.
5. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon, spread over the dough.
6. Roll into a log and use a string to cut neat cinnamon rolls.
7. Place rolls on a baking tray, cover, and let rise again for 15 minutes.
8. Brush with egg + milk.
9. Bake at 200°C for 20–25 minutes, until golden brown.
10. Finish with icing sugar + vinegar drizzle.
