IOL brings you live coverage as National Coloured Congress MP Fadiel Adams continues his testimony before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry in Pretoria.

Yesterday, Adams came under intense questioning from Chairperson Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga over his previous claims that he only became aware of the commission’s request for a statement months later because of problems with his laptop. Emails presented to the commission showed Adams had received and responded to correspondence as early as October 2025. Adams acknowledged that his earlier account was incorrect and apologised for getting the dates mixed up.

Adams also gave evidence about his complaints against senior Crime Intelligence officials, saying his concerns were based on information allegedly provided by whistleblowers. His Section 27 affidavit became central to an investigation that led to the arrest of Lt-Gen Dumisani Khumalo and other senior officials.

Today, the commission is expected to continue probing Adams’ affidavit, the information he supplied to investigators, his interactions with IDAC and how his allegations ultimately fed into the investigation against Crime Intelligence officials. Questions around the circumstances of the arrests and the role played by Adams’ information are likely to remain a key focus as his testimony continues.
