Children laughing is normal, but excessive laughing throughout the day, laughing without reason, or during every activity is a common concern reported by parents of autistic children. This can happen due to difficulty in expressing emotions, inappropriate emotional responses, fear, or stimming behavior. One important and often overlooked reason is yeast infection or candida overgrowth, which may occur due to excess sugar intake, frequent antibiotics or steroids, and poor gut health.
