It can be said that VETTA clearly predicted the future of "cut & paste" (& staple) nonlinear editing itself long BEFORE it was ever a gleam in Mac/Apple's eye! Sadly, the editor of today employs mostly self indulgent & plagiaristic pre-programmed cookie cutter template techniques that basically serve to elevate three and a half year-olds to Academy Award winning status. Listen carefully to the tail end of the "scissors" scene as Shaun mumbles "Pre-Read is BLASPHEMY!" If you get THAT particular inside the industry joke, then you simply haven't been in this business for more than a decade. You're probably still young, naive & full of optimism as you'll never have to create a tape to tape, three machine roll dissolve while dealing with a nasty Sub Carrier to Horizontal Phase shift because the matchcut point locked onto the wrong color frame!
