Modi-Trump White House Meet: Hugs, Handshakes & More; “We Missed You A Lot”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump’s first meeting after Trump’s inauguration as US President was filled with meaningful gestures, highlighting a new chapter in India-US relations. During his two-day official visit to the US, PM Modi arrived at the White House in Washington, DC, on Thursday, where Trump greeted him with a warm hug, saying, “We missed you a lot." PM Modi also expressed his pleasure at seeing Trump. As a special gesture, Trump gave PM Modi a book titled "Our Journey Together," signing it with the message, “Mr. Prime Minister, You Are Great." Trump also shared photos of himself and First Lady Melania Trump from the "Howdy, Modi!" and "Namaste Trump" events. Before meeting Trump, PM Modi also met billionaire Elon Musk and his three children.
