📖 2 Samuel 6
David wanted to bring the Ark of the Covenant back to Jerusalem. His intentions were good. The celebration was loud. The crowd was massive.
But they did it the wrong way.
Instead of carrying the Ark as God commanded, they placed it on a new cart. When the oxen stumbled and Uzzah reached out to steady it, he was struck dead. Why would God respond so severely?
In this message, we examine four critical lessons from 2 Samuel 6:
• You don’t put the Ark on a cart
• You don’t put your hands on the Ark
• You don’t park the Ark
• You rejoice in the Ark
Good intentions are not the same as obedience. Sincerity does not replace submission. God’s presence cannot be engineered, improved, or stabilized by human effort.
Ultimately, this passage points us to Christ — the true fulfillment of the covenant. The holiness that struck Uzzah is the holiness Christ satisfied at the cross. We don’t manage the covenant. We receive it. We carry it. And we rejoice in it.
