SINGIN TREE A SPIRITUAL JOURNEY ~ ELVIS

Описание: This is my video for an obscure song called Singin Tree.I never really liked the master take with Elvis dueting with himself but i really like the out takes which i think make more of an impact with just Elvis' one voice and the backing singers behind him.Its a very sad song with deep,unusual and supernatural lyrics.Elvis is asking,no, pleading with the singin tree or rather the spirit within the tree to sing to him,to ask his friend the roving wind to find his love,so with that mind i thought this song would be ideal to create a video about Elvis' native american heritage while also telling the story of the song.Elvis is believed to be of Cherokee or possibley Cree ancestry on his mothers side though to what extent is debated.He was proud of his connections to native americans and was honoured to be inducted into the Los Angeles Indian council for his portrayal of a mixed race Kiowa in his 1960 western movie "Flaming Star". As a tribute to his native american heritage he had a stage suit made in 1975 called the Indian feather suit which featured native motifs and feathers.He played a native american Navajo in his 1968 comedy movie "Stay Away Joe" for which i used footage for this video.The native americans believe everything in nature has a spirit which comes from the creator,in other words God.In my video Elvis is looking for the singin tree to plead with the spirit within to find his love and so while on his journey he finds various native american features such as rock drawings,eagle feathers and totem poles, so in this way it becomes a spiritual journey while he searches for the sing tree.
