Iran launched its first missile attack on Israel after Mojtaba Khamenei was appointed the country’s new Supreme Leader, succeeding his father Ali Khamenei. Iranian state broadcaster IRIB reported that the missiles were fired shortly after the leadership change was confirmed by Iran’s Assembly of Experts. Sirens sounded across several Israeli cities as air defenses intercepted incoming projectiles.
