Описание: The Honorable Jeannine Frisby LaRue receives one of the five inaugural Torch Lighter Awards from Rutgers Institute for Women’s Leadership on September 25, 2024. Presented by Mary O’Dowd, Executive Director of Health Systems and Population Health Integration for Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences, the Torch Lighter Award recognizes collective work, collaboration, and embodies the leadership that the Institute for Women’s Leadership instills in their students.

LaRue is executive vice president of strategy and business development at Moxie, and senior vice president of The Zita Group. Her groundbreaking career includes championing women and children’s issues and significant chapters at Rutgers University as vice president of public affairs and in government as deputy chief of staff for former New Jersey Governor Jon S. Corzine.

Inspired by the powerful example set by Gloria Steinem, who is not passing her torch but using it to “light the torches of others,” the Torch Lighter Awards were established to make visible the values of feminist leadership and to honor those who use their position, influence, expertise, and resources to uplift others.
