Warm, comforting and packed with natural healing — this Drumstick (Moringa) Soup is rich in immunity-boosting nutrients, antioxidants, iron, calcium and anti-inflammatory compounds.
In this recipe, I boil fresh drumsticks with spices, blend the cooked ingredients into a smooth and creamy texture, and finish it with lemon and seeds for extra nourishment.
Perfect for kids, adults, postpartum moms, bone health, digestion, cold & cough relief, or simply as a wholesome evening meal.

🥕 INGREDIENTS
2 Drumsticks (cut)
1 Onion
8 Garlic cloves
1 inch Ginger
1 Bay leaf
1 small Cinnamon stick
1 Dry red chilli
Few Coriander stems
2 Cloves
½ tsp Jeera
4 Peppercorns
Pink salt to taste
Water as needed
Small handful fresh coriander leaves
Few mint leaves
Seasoning
¼ tsp Turmeric
Lemon juice (as needed)
Optional Crunch Topping
Sunflower seeds
Pumpkin seeds
Sesame seeds
🍲 METHOD
1️⃣ Boil the Ingredients
1. Heat water in a pot.
2. Add drumsticks, onion, garlic, ginger, bay leaf, cinnamon, red chilli, coriander stems, cloves, jeera, pepper, and pink salt.
3. Mix everything well.
4. Once it boils, cover with a lid and cook for 10 minutes.
5. Remove the bay leaf and cinnamon stick.
6. Take out the cooked veggies and keep the cooked water aside
2️⃣ Blend
7. Add the boiled ingredients into a blender.
8. Add coriander leaves, mint leaves, and a little of the cooked water (stock).
9. Blend into a smooth paste.
3️⃣ Strain
10. Strain the blended mixture to remove any fibres; keep the smooth liquid.
4️⃣ Cook Again
11. Add turmeric.
12. Taste and adjust salt.
13. Add lemon juice.
14. Mix well and boil for 2–3 minutes.
Serve hot or warm
Pour into a cup and top with sunflower seeds / pumpkin seeds / sesame seeds. (optional)
