I'm Storm Shield Meteorologist Jason Meyers.

One of the questions I get asked most is - will it rain on my wedding day?

Personally, I've never understood this - it's just one more thing to fret about leading up to the big day. What'll we do with the guests if it rains? Should we hand out monogrammed umbrella wedding favors? Ponchos?

Maybe skip the party favors and spring for services from a company in Europe that's offering - no - GUARANTEEING - a rain-free wedding at certain venues in France!

How do they do it?

Three weeks before your wedding, the company sends over your very own meteorologist, pilot, and aircraft. They monitor the weather leading up to the big day, and if necessary, seed the clouds and make it rain days ahead of time clearing up the atmosphere and any potential chance for rain.

Cloud seeding is the process of dispersing substances like silver iodide into the atmosphere, so water vapor will condense and fall as rain.

This is the same thing the Chinese government did ahead of the 2008 Summer Olympics - to get rid of the smoggy, air pollution and clear skies for their opening ceremony.

But none of this is cheap. A dry wedding in France will set you back a mere 100,000 pounds - roughly 150,000 dollars - but really, a perfectly sunny wedding day is priceless... right?

A slightly cheaper option could be a destination wedding to the Atacama desert, the driest place on earth. They only get a little more than a half inch of rain every year.

But if that's not in your budget, you could always give this southern tradition a try - bury a bottle of bourbon exactly one month before your wedding day, and that's supposed to prevent it from raining. And if it rains, at least you could dig it up and drown your sorrows.
