Fixing your spotty cord reel is easy!
They always get spotty after a few years, most people just toss them out but it is so very easy to bring them back to life.
Please unplug before you work on the unit and make sure you know how the spring is held it, you don't want that to get loose and grab you!
EDIT: The darn thing is spotty again already. I need to open it up and bend the contacts some so they press harder on the power ring.
