Hexagon Fast-Tracks AEON Humanoid Robot with NVIDIA for 24/7 AI-Powered Factory Work

Описание: Hexagon AB is fast-tracking its new humanoid robot into the industrial workforce.

The Swedish industrial automation powerhouse built the robot in collaboration with NVIDIA. Standing about 165 centimeters (5 feet 5 inches), the robot has a hybrid bipedal and wheeled locomotion system so it can walk when needed and roll fast across flat factory floors.

With its special battery swapping design, it can keep working around the clock. According to Hexagon, AEON uses next-generation actuators from maxon for strong, smooth, and energy-efficient movement.

Customers use Hexagon’s solutions for tasks like quality inspection, machine calibration, factory automation, digital twin creation, surveying, and autonomous navigation. With around 24,000 employees in 50 countries, Hexagon already has the infrastructure to support global deployment, training, and servicing. Hexagon says it incorporated feedback directly from customers to develop AEON.

AEON is being piloted at Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus and Shaeffler, a global bearing technology firm headquartered in Germany. They're testing the robotic humanoids for use cases like machine tending, inspections, and reality-capture missions.
