Anyone who knows Matty will be aware that he is carnivals number 1 fan. Which is a huge understatement. Since our first trip to Bridgwater in 2018 Matty has lived each day with his carnival at heart. Over the years he has been taken to the heart of Bridgwater and Somerset carnival clubs. He has visited numerous sheds and come home with memorabilia that is so huge it doesn’t even fit in the house. After a 3 year wait Matty got to watch his carnival friends do what they do best. Put on a spectacular show. From drawings to completed carts with costumes the time, dedication, skill needed magic put into each and every cart just warms the soul.
This year was extra special for Matty as he got to walk Parkway and cheer his friends on, he waved, danced and photographed everything. Be aware that where we filmed this year was before the carnival had even reached the start point so performances had not started. They save their energy for the long route through Bridgwater.
We would like to thank everyone for taking Matty to heart, Griffens carnival club along with Marion & Mike especially. To Jeff for putting up with numerous text messages a day to find out what’s happening on the carnival radio show. For Cobra who gave Matty a lovely hat which he kept in the entire time.

The carts were incredible, we still don’t know how you pull off such amazing magical shows year after year.
We will be up sometime in the new year for Matty to rob your sheds of anything that’s not nailed down.
I think I’m safe in saying that Matty warmed everyone’s hearts with his love and enthusiasm.
